BIOGRAPHY

Danilo Preto, known professionally as PREDA, was born in Vicenza in 1950. After studying Political Science at the University of Padua, he began his professional career working in advertising, communications, publishing, and editorial management.

In the early 1990s, he organized the first seven editions of Vicenza Arte in partnership with the Vicenza Exhibition Center, hosted in its pavilions, welcoming the most important Italian galleries and organizing numerous collateral exhibitions dedicated to Italian and international artists. He also supported several groups of emerging artists. This activity was followed by two editions of Arte Udine.

In 1991, he met with an important large-scale retail chain, becoming its Director of Communications and Marketing as well as Head of Political/Institutional Relations. He brought with him his experience in organizing art events, using artists who had collaborated with his artistic events for commercial and promotional signage and packaging.

He never lost sight of ethics. Thanks to his interest, important projects dedicated to children were carried out: the “Villaggio del Fanciullo” in Ethiopia, a pediatric cardiac surgery center at the Damascus University Pediatric Hospital, and the new Cardiac Center in Cameroon for children with heart disease.

A journalist since 1978, he has always cultivated a green soul. He is the author or co-author of several books on the nature of the Vicenza area, both academic and popular.

Among the institutional positions he has held, we can mention his appointment as a member of the Board of Directors of the Fondazione del Teatro Comunale “Città di Vicenza,” Vice President of both Confimprese and the Federazione Italiana Dettaglianti, as well as membership in the Executive Committee of Federdistribuzione. Also noteworthy is his role as President of Vicenza Calcio spa.

Relations with the artistic, entrepreneurial, and institutional worlds have always been in his blood, both as a cultural enthusiast and as a professional. Now he proves it again, under the pseudonym PREDA, with a “Manifesto” that starts from the awareness of a world in which definitions disappear to make way for a mix of outcomes inspired by the premise of his “MANIFESTO.”

Preda has chosen the conceptual to express himself. It is a scenario that belongs to him and in which he interprets his world, filtered through the emotions and residues of his belonging to the theaters where he has had the opportunity to work and engage in a wide range of opportunities.

He has already participated in exhibitions in Italy, Spain, France, Turkey, England, and Dubai, obtaining the publication of his works, with favorable critical acclaim, and the attention of art magazines.
